We All Read Too Much?
"Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me." (Jn 5:39)
This article hints that we read the wrong things. We're flooded by the "wrong things," so much that the "right things" are lost in the noise.
"It is precisely because we now consume writing from the moment we wake until the moment we crash—most of it mundane, redundant, speculative, badly researched, partisan, and emojian—that we no longer have the same appetite (or time) for literary fiction, serious think pieces, or top-shelf journalism anymore, even though they’re all readily available."
One cannot help but believe these forces are demonic in nature; we're witnessing yet another attempt by Satan to blot the Bible from revelance in our society.
(The same happens--and has been happening--to Music for the past several decades. One cannot drive a car, purchase groceries, wait in line, or watch a movie without being constantly flooded with all kinds of Music. By its ubiquity, it becomes irrelevant. Who can tell the difference between "good" and "bad" Music?)
We are encouraged to "Search the Scriptures." May God grant us, through the working of the Holy Ghost, the willpower to do so!
